I am working on a commission for a couple who specified that they would like it to be in olive. I have always wanted to work in olive. I love olive trees and my great-grandfather worked in Italy, where he and my great-grandmother lived and raised their family, as a gardener specialising in the pruning of olive trees. The wood I sourced comes from Italy and is from a tree that needed to come down (not the one pictured above). I am finding the shapes for the individual elements from within the wood itself and I am working on this at the moment. The couple have generously also commissioned me to make an additional piece which they will donate to Solace.
