Exhibition at Highfields, Norton, 2 – 10 June 2018

LeafletEx.2018iemail.jpg We are exhibiting a new series of works called ‘Breath marks’, mobiles which use the shapes of breath as inspiration. We tested this process with our family by recording their breath as they blew on water-marbling paints across water and taking prints. Our templates for the shapes in the mobiles came from the patterns which emerged. Over time, we hope to follow this process with different groups of people.

*A Japanese Tanka (literally translated as “short song”), is better known as a five-line poetic form, using the syllable structure 5/7/5/7/7. Tanka poems are often written as an expression of love and value, do not use punctuation and do not rhyme.
