“Come forth into the light of things,
Let Nature be your teacher.”
From The Tables Turned by Wordsworth
After spending time at the Wordsworth Museum when planning and installing ‘Breath Water Marks‘, we were moved to respond to the work of William and Dorothy Wordsworth with a new series intertwining words, movement and shapes.
We used oak leaves as our inspiration, as we are drawn to how oak leaves all have a core similarity yet how each also has a clear and unique shape and character. We wanted to explore the sense of oak leaves falling and resting. The series comprises six mobiles, all in oak, and the word markings are made with pyrography. Please be in touch for dimensions and further images.
For a short film of the pieces in the woodland, please see the Journal entry.

We also made a series of 4 pairs of single oak leaf shapes and their cut-outs (exhibited summer 2024 at jaggedart London).
