These mobiles are inspired by the drifting phytoplankton from which chalk is formed, and uses chalk which we gathered from Freshwater Beach in the Isle of Wight.
The work below is a suspended wall piece. It hangs from a baton 1m wide.
The videos show a mobile (left) and detail of a second wall piece with chalk (right). The wooden shapes are made in wood which I had in the studio, sycamore and some smoked oak.
