Earlier this year, on behalf of Dovetailing with Clare Dearnaley, I received some seed funding from Bradford 2025 to develop a proposal for a project around sphagnum moss which is still in development. Valuable support has been given by Born in Bradford and Moors for the Future. This work has been alongside the development of the design for the public fountain in Ilkley, which is an interpretation of tiny sphagnum leaves and their cell structure.
I have made a short information document to help me understand and share key facts about sphagnum moss, the formation of peat and how crucial the restoration of peatland bogs is to our future.
